The weather desk does not investigate craft. This page is the public record: file drops, case writeups, and the archive. If a number is not in the document we link, it is not on this page. The picture above is an illustration, not a sighting.
The Trump transparency push
In February 2026 President Trump directed the Secretary of War and the other relevant departments to find and release government files on unidentified anomalous phenomena, UFOs, and anything else tied to that question. The Department of War stood up PURSUE, the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters, and started posting tranches at war.gov/UFO. The first batch went up on 8 May 2026. More have followed on a rolling schedule, including the sixth on 18 September. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said the department is “in lockstep with President Trump” on that release. On 14 September 2026 the department issued a targeted waiver so current and former service members, civilians, and contractors can give UAP-related information to PURSUE without breaking certain secrecy agreements. The waiver is a path into the review, not a license to publish the files yourself. The files still arrive redacted, and many of them have not been resolved.
